Popular scale
The Popular is a little American letter scale. The oval shapes are special. The chart has much, maybe an overplus of postal rates information. The weighing capacity is 16 ounces, or 1 Lbs, and is subdivided in half ounces. The letter rate of 3c per 1 ounce was valid from July 6 1932 till August 1 1958. The postal rate for Air Mail of 6c was valid in two periods namely 1934-1944 and also 1949-1955. This does not help to date this scale more precisely. Below some more pictures of this letter scale.
