According to the leaflet in 6 languages this ABS plastic letter scale was designed by Zanuso. The scale has a foldable plate to easily put it away in a drawer. The capacity is typical for France, namely 350 grams. The chart is subdivided per 5 grams. On top of the housing a zero adjusting knob is situated. The chart has 3 movable little markers to mark the limits of the postal rates. The letter scale was available in blue, white and orange. The design was protected in 6 countries by a patent, in France FR2185792, in the USA US3826320 and in Germany DE2322288. Furthermore a patent was granted in Japan, Spain and England. The French patent wwas applied for on May 24 1972 and was granted on January 4 1974. Paul Terraillon is mentioned as inventor on these patents. Zanuso is not mentioned.
