This hand-held letter scale is made by Ph. J. Maul. This type of scale is also called pocket scale. I don't know whether this letter scale was sold complete with a leather case or pouch. With comparable pocket scales in the USA that was usual. The range of the letter scale shown is 0 - 50 grams. I don't know if this design was protected by a patent. I think the letter clip of the scale isn't the original.
